Cheapest laptop?

I'm looking for a cheap laptop for my girlfriend. She needs it for work, with wifi and internet etc, but would like a DVD and CD writer on it too. Nothing too fancy or powerful is needed as she says she won't use most of it.

Does anyone have any ideas because I'm clueless. Thanks.

Update:

Budget is as little as possible and I'm in the UK.

Is refurbished or used a good option or not?

Thank You.

    Hi

What is your budget and which country are you based in?

I can look up a good model for you with that information.

well laptops start from about $400 with basic functions. which include a dvd reader and a cd writer so i think it would not be the price of the laptop that is going to be a problem it is the warranty and all the other stuff and accessories that actually will burn a hole in your pocket. well the best place to buy a laptop is best buy and future shop and all that but personally i got my laptop 2 years ago and i got i from a shop( which is like a corner store here but is renouned in my city ) and it works as fast as any laptop till date and has various other features which were added later on and the cost was only $600 with all the latest stuff so u can give it a shot at best buy and future shop and then get an rough estimate and try to look on the so called "corner stores" if you want better prices.
