why does IE open 2 home pages in 8.0 beta?

Go to the IE option, make sure there's only one link listed in the home page tab.
Remember, All beta software have their own problem. If the above solution is not working, make sure you report it to microsoft for futher assistance.

It just means you have 2 homepages set to open. You can remove the other page in the tools menu.

It is probably a bug. After all... it is a beta, you can't expect much. In my opinion, just wait for it to be released normally so you don't have to deal with glitches, bugs and many other annoything things like that!

use firefox.
in my opinion...its way better than IE.
i used to think to myself "i downloaded this browser for nothing, im never gonna use it"
..........fast foward to now....its the only browser i choose to use.
it jus seems faster and less buggy than IE does.
