I recommend you do quite a bit of research prior to purchasing any GPS receiver, nothing like getting buyers remorse only to find out you cannot return it. If you live near an Outdoor World or BASS Proshops or Gander Mountain, they usually have sales reps very knowledgable on GPS devices and will be able to help you pick out the one that best suits your desires, needs and fits into your budget.

I use the Garmin Etrex as well. I picked mine up off of Ebay about two years ago and I only paid $100 for it. It was originally $350. You might try there first.

I have a great refurbished Magelan. It is nice and when you buy it refurbished a good one can be cheep. I love geocashing and I have always used it.
