when is it ok for 2 grown men to ride on the same bike?
i saw 2 dudes riding on a nighthawk 750 (or something like that) today and it just looked akward.
my granddaddy used to alway say to me "son, i don't EVER want to see you riding on a bike with another man. and if i do... one of y'all better be holding a gas can".
so anyone on here ride tandem? or even think it's completely normal? and i'm not talking about riding with your 9 year old son/nephew/whatever...
** this is not a "homophobic" issue. it's a legitimage question regarding a natural occuring phenomenon that, whether most people like to admit or not, evokes some type of response. particularly in the motorcyle community, where this question was asked by the way.

Right at this moment there's only one other guy I'd get on behind and he was my partner when we were both motorcycle cops in Wichita. He's a 280 lb Otoe Indian from Oklahoma, who boxed professionally—most folks wouldn't be stupid enough to call him "gay" or "queer". Anyway, he's the only guy I know right now with a high enough skill level as a rider for me to feel comfortable behind. And who gives a rat's a** how it LOOKS, anyway...I couldn't care less about some cage driver's opinion of what I look like...most of them are too busy texting their mommies to notice me anyway...K ;o)

i don't think there's a right or wrong answer for everybody, it's more of a personal choice.
i don't like having a guy on the back of my bike, simply as i don't feel comfortable, and I'm not even a homophobe, i just don't like it.
but if i see other guys with a guy on the back of his bike it's not really my concern so it's never a problem.
but i did see two rather large men, riding a scooter, must have been a 50cc cuz it was so small, i nearly fell off my bike laughing at them!

How silly, it's always ok, people can ride bikes when ever they want, some may be gay and want to be with their loved one, others may be straight and just need a lift. Either way round there's nothing wrong with riding a bike with someone of the same sex, its like is it wrong for two girls to be going in a car together - stupid really lol.

If a scooter is down in the desert I will do a parts run But very few would be foolish enough to leave it on the highway
Once I rode a Bro to the Hospital "Bout 240 grains of extra Lead"
But its just a good excuse to laugh _ If they are not gay in the first place
Jay & Mag do it all the time just to P Baldy&Willie off

I personally would not ride on the back, but If I had a friend that needed a ride and was willing to ride there, I would give him one. I think too many people are afraid to help out a friend because it might make them appear weak or god forbid gay. This world needs to just lighten up.

were you watching the filming of another dumb and dumber sequel?
it just ain't right, i won't even be a passenger behind my wife.... too humiliating, may as well carry her purse and go in the store to buy her tampons if i did that. only women belong on the back of a bike.... get a sidecar if you need to haul a guy that bad. kids excempt

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Matbe the one on the back was stranded and needed a ride.

There's nothing wrong with it. I'm sure no one would say anything if two females were riding a motorcycle, so why does it matter?
I'm a little bothered by some of these homophobic responses.

When I was young and poor and all my friends were poor, sometimes that was the only way to get anywhere, we didn't really think much of it...but I'm sure it was always the last resort.

I can think of only two reasons
A. an emergency
B. they are a couple
I tell males that ask me for a ride that there is only one set of b***s allowed on my bike.
