Christians: Why do you believe other religions are wrong?
They're just like you, they believe in things without knowing, "by faith", yet all religions claim to have the only truth. Does it ever enter you're mind that you could be wrong? I mean there are so many religions that the chance that you're right is very slim. It's somewhat ignorant to claim to be right when you don't even know for sure, you have to believe "by faith".
p.s. People of other religions use the exact same justifications as you. They say they know because God is working in their lives, the holy book says so, they've had an "experience", seen miracles, etc.

I suspect it's the same reason other religions believe Christianity is wrong.
All religions hold their ideology/dogma to be the source of truth.

There are only a handful of exclusive religions that say they are the only way to God. A few of the muslims I have met believe in all, and by the way...will say ALL. Keep in mind the discrepancy in your question...if I had a tangible experience with God..in my mind...why would I be wrong about God. I see another issue...and that is that maybe this about evangelism and people who proselytize their religion as superior. Keep in mind 1) Jesus said that the Kingdom was like hidden treasure a man found one day. The idea there is you wouldn't want people knowing about that field and you would not share your find with everyone you met. The idea of Christianity is spreading a bearable fragrance of Christ, but these McChurches are attempting to put Christ in everyones face all the time and the more they try....its seems the less people want. Even then some of those people do not want genuine Christ, they want his Pop twin. Ill stop now.
Source(s): Sorry I didn't answer your question, I think you're issue is with all these McChurches and all their immature fundraising attempts (evangelism.....often...not always). - Anonymous1 decade ago
Because disproving other religions helps them convince themselves that it is true. Many Christians aren't strong enough to face the fact that some day they will die and never live again. They need to do everything they can to make themselves believe it or else they will break down with fear. Let's be honest, is it completely rational to believe there is an invisible man in the sky controlling everything? Many people use it as support as well. To take matters out of their own hands and put it into the hands of their god. At any rate, what it all comes down to is fear.

i'm assuming you're asking no count number if we remember non-Christian religions to be unsuitable. confident. Christians could think approximately them to be incorrect, because of the fact the Bible teaches that God is the only god and Jesus died on the bypass as an atonement for our sins. If a faith does now not experience this, the Bible says it rather is unsuitable. God gave us unfastened will, so we are unfastened to worship who/what we'd like. basically considering the God helps some ingredient does not advise He needs us to do it. i won't be in a position to remember the concentrated area, even though Paul suggested that what's permissible isn't continually helpful.

You are right, and it is a decision that each person has to make. Personally I have chosen to believe in Jesus Christ. I think the rest are wrong. It is only by faith that I believe this, but the evidence of faith within me is strong and I am confident that I have made the right choice. Eternity will tell.

my beliefs are firm, that being said, i understand others believing differently. i have respect for anyone who arrives at their beliefs in the proper way. i do not have respect for your question, automatically considering me to be intollerant and ignorant because i am a christian. i don't thump the bible, condem people to hell who don't think exactly like me, don't foam at the mouth at the thought of a jew, or a hindu, or a muslim. i do not feel i am superior to everyone else. your question is designed to apply a jab, not to find answers. your question shows you are not very well informed. there are some christians who feel this way, just like there are some muslims who feel the destruction of christians is the way to go, just as there are athiests who have no respect for christians because the atheists "claim to have the only truth", does it ever enter their mind that they could be wrong? isn't it ignorant to claim to be right when you don't even know for sure, um......that sounds vaguely familiar.

Of course I doubt. I am not perfect by any means, and as it is said, "we live by faith and not by sight", so it is only natural that I doubt.
However, I believe in Christianity because it is different than every other religion. In every other religion, man is always working towards some god or some goal. In Buddhism people work towards "enlightenment", Muslims are told to "kill people" to please their god. But if we consider God to be perfect and all powerful, and I am imperfect, what could I possible do to reach him? What could I, a mere human, do to fix the wrongs I have done.
But in Christianity, I am told that my God already loves me and he bridge that large gap between me and Him. To me, it makes sense, if you study the Bible verses other theological doctrines, it is amazingly consistent.
So that s why I believe, you can agree or not agree, that s OK.

In my mind, there is only one faith. That is the Christian faith. I do not believe in Baptist, Presbyterian, Penecostal, or any religion. There is only one Bible. The truth is in that Bible. Religion just adds to the Bible or takes away from the Bible and I disagree with it. I believe that if you read the Bible, follow God's commandments, and confess and believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and then rose from the dead, and live as Jesus did, you are Christian. Christian meaning Christ like. Christian is not a religion.
The way that God speaks to you in through your heart. Have you heard of trusting your instincts? Your instincts is God tugging at your heart, telling you what you need to know. God communicates through His word also, the Bible. Everything that you need to know is there. God disapproves of religion. There is one faith and one faith only, that is Christian.

I've always wondered that myself. How can just one religion be entirely right and all the others wrong? And most people believe the religion they were taught as a child without any further research. It is ignorance to just believe without doing a little research.

I Don't Think Other Religions Are Wrong. I Feel EveryOne Should Have Their Own Opinions About Religions And Everything Else for That Matter.

I was raised Christian and I reject the idea that all other religions are wrong. Best quote ever by Jonathan Swift:
"There is just enough religion in this world to make men hate one another but not enough to make them love."
In other words, if there is a satan, he is laughing about all the war and bloodshed over the inconsequential details between the religions.
