How much experience do you need?

Ok, so I LOVE to act and I am trying to be in every play that I can be involved with. I know that I am not ready to take the next step in a career yet but I am not sure how many things I need on a resume before I find agent to take the next step. I am very serious about this and would just like some advice from some one who knows about acting careers. Thank you.

Oh yea, I will most likely be moving to California next summer which will help alot.

Update:

We are moving to California for two reasons. One, I am more interested in acting in movies and tv (i am not saying that theater isn't as good, it just isn't what i want to do). Two, my parents used to live there and want to move back.

Well, you cannot get too much experience. When you get newer, bettere things, you drop the old stuff off your resume. there is no set limit as to how much stuff to put on a resume, except it has to be one page only. Why are you moving to CA, not a particularly good career move.

They'll want you to have been in several plays before they'll cast you for a good part. Be in as many plays as you want, just bear in mind that your resume` can't really be 700 pages long.
