Is this stuff about the worldwide internet crashing in a few years true?

I read this thing on Yahoo about how AT&T's can't increase the bandwidth so the internet will crash for everyone in a couple of years....? IDK, I just wanted to know the validity of this claim and the story behind it....

    In theory it true.

But clever software and new hardware has always got around most problems.

Also talk about a new safer internet 'The Grid' to replace our internet in ten years.

Technology changes so fast, Look at the £100 laptop in Africa. It builds its own network via wifi thats constantly changing and moving. info is send via computer via computer Ect. bit like 'stepping stones' forming a wi-fi network. We could do this and any problems would be solved. Lots of easy solutions.

So the internet will change, but not crash.

But this does not make a good story for the press.

Short answer: That's Impossible! All websites (the ones who provide internet) have to do is shutdown their servers or limit bandwith.

That's the dummies talking. The same ones that said the world and computers would crash in 2000. I could give you a more philisophical answer but there is no need to.
