where to purchase extended warranty for Mercedes AMG?
I'm thinking about purchasing a C32 AMG to use as my daily driver and HPDE weekend toy. I'd like to purchase an extended warranty 'just in case' since I've heard from friends that AMG cars are very expensive to fix if something breaks.
It seems that none of the large internet warranty providers (warrantydirect.com etc) will sell an extended warranty for AMG vehicles.
Does anyone know where I can purchase an extended warranty for a C32? Also, if there are any C32 owners here who drive the car on the circuit, could you please comment on the vehicle's reliability?
Thanks!
Thank you for the responses so far, especially to the poster who suggested that USD $4k-$6k repairs are a strong possibility with an AMG car. I did not realize these vehicles broke down so much. The trade-in value of a 2002 C32 right now is around USD $18k, so it is certainly eye opening to me that repairs costing almost 1/3 of the vehicle's value are a strong possibility.
I currently own a 2002 Subaru WRX, and the only way I could incur a USD $4k-$6k repair bill with the Subaru is a complete drivetrain failure or a collision involving significant body damage. In fact, even with regular track use over the last 3 years my routine maintenance and repair costs have not exceeded USD $4k.
I am most concerned with stock 'out of the box' track performance and not the AMG branding so it looks like I should look elsewhere
Any current C32 owners want to comment?

Whenever you buy any AMG, whether it is the C or the SL, you must understand that these engines are hand built and require master technicians to work on them. Mercedes parts come from Germany, and if you're thinking about using aftermarket parts on your AMG, think again...that is unless you're considering even more expensive parts from someone like RennTech. So, yes, when something goes wrong with the engine, it is a costly repair. But this is more the exception than the norm.
When it comes to warranty companies, you MUST be wary of online warranty companies. Many of these companies are off-shore companies that have nothing more than a PO Box address here in the States. That makes them incredibly hard to work with. BEFORE you buy one of these warranties, check with your local Benz dealer to make sure that they will work with this company. There is no sense in buying a warranty that the dealership will not accept. And if you're thinking of taking your AMG to an independent garage...well you'll just be throwing money away.
If you're looking at an '02, look at Benz dealers on the internet. The 2002 model year can still be Mercedes Benz Certified, which will give you a 1 year/up to 100,000 mile warranty. You can also purchase an extension of that warranty up to two years. It will cover EVERYTHING on the car.
Aside from that, there are very few other companies willing to deal with the AMGs because of the cost of parts and labor.
Finally, unless you're able to go to an auction to pick up one of these vehicles (which would then negate the possibility of having it certified by the dealership), you will most certainly be paying more than the "trade in" price on the car. When Mercedes certifies a car, they need to do an inspection on the car and make any adjustments to get it into line with the Certified specs. This can sometimes be costly for the dealership, which in turn raises the price on the car, but lets you know that you are purchasing a quality pre-owned car.
I hope all of this helps.

Hi from a local Mercedes-Dealer. There's only one company in the USA that offers a warranty on MB AMG models, that is Genuine Warranty Solutions (www.genuinewarranty.com). Genuine specialises in the unique/exotic cars, and your car is their exact niche. If your local dealer doesnt sell the warranty from Genuine, you can call them direct.

If the coverage means that much to you you will likely need to buy the car CPO (Certified Pre-Owned or Starmark) and then you'll have coverage. Starmark cars are available only from a Mercedes-Benz dealer.
Were it me, I wouldn't buy a warranty and I wouldn't buy the car either unless I could afford a $4-$6K repair bill on a moment's notice.

If the car is still covered under the factory warranty, you can buy extended coverage through your Benz dealer.

No warranty covers everything,,,,,,they all have limitations and exclusions, and none of them cover brakes, tires, alignment, or tune-up.
