Will hummingbirds come if I put feeder out?

I put a hummingbird feeder out last week, hoping to attract some. I haven't seen any, is it too soon? I live in N. Louisiana.

Don't put a huge amount of sugar water in the feeder at first. It will go bad and you need to put fresh in after about 7-10 days or so.

Wouldn't hurt to get some of the red color in the sugar water at first but once you get them coming to the feeder it isn't needed.

I think you should have them in your area by now because they are at my house in Va already.

I regularly have more advantageous birds at my more less expensive hummingbird feeder. They %. out the grills and pitch them aside to get on the nectar...i do not thoughts the perfect, sleek orange adult males with black racing stripes, inspite of the actuality that. Orioles? lost my fowl e book. Hummers will come round, in the adventure that they see pink. 3/4 c. water, a million/4 c. sugar, somewhat pink nutrition coloring. They drink it up in below a week, yet then i'm interior the barren region.

Down where you are should be about right. I live in Southern Wisconsin and expect them any day (OK week).

The key is tho to check your feeder often. If ants or other insects get into it, the Hummers won't eat out of it. When we don't see a hummer at our feeder (once they get here) for a day or more we know the ants or the earwigs got to it.

They will come: do you have hummingbirds all year round? Here in Minnesota we have them June to October: we often get warnings to get the feeders down by early September. If they can keep feeding they do not fly south and delay causes death.

I hear they are back, I was told to be patient and if the weather isn't too hot, your food won't go bad. So just sit back and watch for them. Have you ever seen a hummingbird nest, they are the size of a walnut.

it only works if humming birds are in the area. if you dont have any in the area they wont come for a while. if you do then they will be their soon.

if hummingbird feeders dont work try butterfly feeders. butterflies are every where

I am in Wisconsin and we hang sugar water out April 25th. 3 parts water 1 part sugar. We had hummers the first day. Be patient. They may be there. You just haven't seen them yet or they haven't discovered your food source.

yes. i live in south louisiana and they're here. make sure you are doing the right combination of water to sugar and add some pink food dye. if you put some flowers around then you defiantely get them.

they might be there but you can't see them. they're really small and fast ao you have to be patient and allow your eyes to seeing them.
