Even though McFadden is the better back, Felix Jones will have the better year. He has a better offensive line to run behind, the Cowboys have a much better QB and passing game to preassure off him, Dallas has the two back system, Oakland has several backs and Dallas has Jason Garret as the offensive cordinator. That man is an offensive genius.

This situation reminds me of the Auburn boys Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams...
I always wonder whether really successful platoon situations in college will pan out in the NFL.
A couple thoughts...
1. I don't think the Arkansas O-line gets enough credit.
2. McFadden has huge upside, but the knock on him is the 'dead legs' he gets on first contact. He's not a pile mover.
3. Felix lands in another platoon with Marion Barber III.
4. McFadden has the worst of the two QB situations. JaMarcus is essentially a rookie.
5. McFadden will have to fight for touches with Michael Bush, and Justin Fargas...
6. Jones returned kicks, but may not have to if Pacman does most of it. Jones may or may not be the skinny Jones-Drew for Dallas.
For the 2008 season, I think Jones will have the more immediate impact. Long term, McFadden has all the tools but plays for an Oakland team that hasn't been very good for nearly a decade.
Jones

Darren McFadden by a frickin landslide. It's true that the Cowboys O-line is better but some running back's are good even without a good Offensive line. Take Barry Sanders for example, he played for the Detroit Lions and when he played he was the only good player on his team. The O-line on his team was TERRIBLE. That doesn't mean Darren McFadden is like Barry Sanders it just means that he is the better running back. Plus, Felix Jones will probably be just a backup for 2008.

Unfair question as Mcfadden will be a featured back while Jones is a back-up. Jones playing behind an O-line while McFadden is playing behind swiss cheese. McFadden also appears to drop as soon as hit rather then driving for more yards, this usually equals a short career but if that was because of rib injury as he says who knows..The holes are a lot smaller in the NFL and the defense a lot faster.

felix jones for the simple fact that going to the raiders ruins careers. so pretty much mcfadden will want to be traded if oakland does not step it up and start winning games

D Mac, at first i was wondering why would this question even be asked but i can see why. Jones wont have any pressure on him cause they already have a great back and he can just do his thing. And on the other hand McFadden is expected to be Adrian Petterson and Oakland has question marks, if oaklands line sux then it will be jones but if they are half way decent D Mac will do good cause i feel he can handle the pressure

im a cowboys fan but mcfadden will have the better year. jones will simply give marion barber a rest on occasion and return kicks. i dont see him being an every down back like mcfadden. i think if jones can get between 10-15 total a game he can be useful in that respect. that wont be enough touched to win him the rookie if the year unless he goes crazy and runs 5 or 6 kickoffs back for touchdowns.

Probably Jones. McFadden can't make anything on his own. Jones will be playing with a much better offensive line. McFadden will find the holes few and far between in Oakland.

In watching this years season with those two, my jaw was frequently on the floor in amazement when either of those two broke for a huge gain.
I think Mcfadden will have a better rookie year because he will be the starting RB. Jones won't have as many touches but will still be a force to reckon with.

I want to say Felix Jones, but knowing that the Raiders was top 5 in rushing last year I have to go with Darren and not bc he went number 4 or bc almost EVERY analyst say he's better but bc the Raiders has to have a good o-line for them to have put up the numbers they did last year. But I will not count Felix out, he is a homerun hitter and all he needs is a little daylight & he explodes in the endzone..
