What kind of bike should I get for my 30 mile commute? Buell Bast, Suzuki SV650 etc.?

My commute is about 25 miles freeway/frontage road, so I need a bike that rides at 60-70mph comfortably. Looking for a used bike that is cheap (such as the Buell) but also reliable (such as the SV650). Any advice will help, thanks!

For the money. the Suzuki GS500 is a bargain. Cheap, simple, reliable, available parts & it will do 70 mph all day without stranding you on the side of the road. The Ninja 500 is another good choice for a little more money. Throw on a windscreen for about $65 & you're set. They've been around since the 80's so there's plenty of them around. The Blast will do the job but reliability is hit or miss & they're buzzy on the highway. The SV is great if it's in the budget & you're comfortable with the seat.

Consider the Suzuki DL650. Little more fairing, windshield, and lots of aftermarket parts.
