The 2 week notice thing is more of a professional courtest than anything. Your employer will have to find someone to replace you. If you quit on the spot it can cause a big problem for your employer's business.
If they were a good employer you really should give notice. If they were really shitty I see no problem in not giving notice. Just don't expect a good reference.

For actual hours worked, yes; however, if you have borrowed against PTO or have uniforms equipment outstanding, etc., the employer can hold your final check and/or debit against your final check.
Also, you may be listed as ineligible for re-hire or unemployment.

Yes, they have to pay you for what hours you worked. What they don't have to give you is a good reference for your next job.

Of course, for the hours you worked, if they dont pay you that is beyond legal, and not to hard for you to prove, unless you are on commission pay then it is harder to prove, but no company wnats that legal trouble, it is easier to pay

Not sure maybe not because by law your supposed to give a notice. They may just cut out 2 weeks salary.

Yes, you still get your paycheck, but I wouldn't count on a good reference from them...
