If you haven't made the legal and spiritual commitment of marriage, then none of the privileges or responsibilities of marriage apply.

And do you really want to be in a relationship with a person who thinks you should "serve" him?

It does not say you should serve him. It says you should be submissive to a husband. Bu that does not mean serve. A boyfriend should do things for himself, you owe him no allegiance. When Paul said a woman should be submissive to her husband, he also said that a husband should love his wife, like Christ loved the church. Christ died for the church, he washed his disciples feet, he served the church. A husband should take care of his wife and her needs, not expect her to be his servant. A wife should submit to her husband, but that in no way means be his slave or be treated like he owns you.

Islam enjoin the husband to serve the wife and family, emulating the prophet Muhammad, a man who is a head of state yet whenever he was at home, always did housework and served his family.

if you serve him, then he should PROVIDE for you! like he should provide food, shelter, clothing, and shampoo! entertainment (dates, dinner and a movie...) ooh, and shopping money too!

PS. I am serious! (despite my screen name)! I am irritated at my husband because I end up buying all the toothpaste and necessary goods. It is NOT right! it is NOT OK! HE is supposed to take care of ME! argh!

Oh! and he should protect you too! ooh.... holding you safe in his arms... sweet...

wait... you said "in all ways"... do you mean in sinful ways? that a wife should submit to her husband... including in bed? you should not do THAT unless you are married. Besides the most important fact, that it is a SIN to do so before married... Why would you want to just give yourself away for free to some guy that is not providing for your needs? hold out... you are worth waiting for... and all that...

Oh dear, that's just common sense. Serving men is what you were put on Earth for. Any bronze age middle eastern goat herder will confirm it.

Okay, if this is an issue now, what will happen if you ever do get married? You might want to re-think this particular BF.
