how does the shepard gets his lion, goat, and bail of hay across the river in a boat that only will carry two?

if the lion is left with the goat he will eat it,if the goat is left with the goat is left with the hay he will eat it.

    Take the goat and the hay across. Leave the hay and bring back the goat. Leave the goat and take the Lion across. Leave the Lion and fetch the goat.

    then take across the hay but return with the goat

    then leave the goat and take the lion across

    then return for the goat!

    i had to do this in digital electronics non seq and sequential

    (but it was a fox a chicken and chicken feed)
