Top three rivalries trivia?
This question will post in the baseball section but this question isn't only a sport's top rivalries as has more sports as football, basketball, hockey, or others. The college basketball or college football is necessary if you want to answer college sports. That's fine for me.
I write my opinions of being top rivalries in MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL.
Here's top three rivalries in MLB:
1. Red Sox-Yankees
2. Cubs-Cardinals
3. Dodgers-Giants
In NFL:
1. Pats-Colts
2. Packers-Bears
3. Cowboys-Redskins
in NBA:
1. Spurs-Suns
2. Suns-Lakers
3. Lakers-Celtics
in NHL:
1. Red Wings-Avs
2. Maple Leafs-Canadiens
3. Flames-Oilers

Baseball: Yankees -- Red Sox. This is the rivalry by which all other rivalries are judged. How many rivalries have produced books like "The Devil Wears Pinstripes" by Jim Caple.
Football: Any two NFC East teams. The fans of the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants and Redskins really hate each other in a way that is lacking in most other divisions. I like the Colts-Patriots energy, but it is relatively new. Still, the Indy crowd booing the 14 year old girl from New Hampshire in the pass, punt and kick competition puts them in the Yankee fans level of boorishness.
Basketball: In the 80s it was Lakers--Celtics, but the Celts have been no shows for about 18 years. Let's hope that it gets reignited this year.
Hockey: Canadiens--Maple Leafs. Hands down.

1. Red Sox-Yankees
Until the Sox won 2004, this really wasn't a rivaly, the Red Sox were not ever on top of the Yankees.
In NFL:
3. Cowboys-Redskins
Cowboys blow
in NBA:
2. Suns-Lakers
Won't see each other this year!
in NHL:
1. Red Wings-Avs
