Broken Bat

The sight of water

It was dark and deep

But a puddle in the back of my head

He fell, a tiny splash

Me too young to swim

I screamed her name, I can't remember now

He was almost lost

Forever and ever

Into that dark and deep water

Oh, the eldest,

No good comes from strangers

The future gone, little light to come

I was not there

My parents told me so

A broken wiffle ball bat in the sun

I can't remember

only stories that I know

Falling to the ground

When i woke

My head was sore

To this day i just don't know.

Just one flicker,

As I look back

I can't remember what happened there
