Shows like queer eye 4 the straight guy, do they keep the improvements for free or / they have to pay for them

I was watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy today on pay TV, and I'm now wondering about the actual costs involved..... do the contestants / victims on the show get to keep all the furniture and clothes used in their make over for free or do they either pay for the costs involved or is everything returned to the stores.....minus the clothing that has been worn, as it must cost a fortune to redecorate the homes and wardrobes of the contestants / victims that appear on the show, anyway, just wondering, I look forward to hearing some answers, Thanks

    i believe that the sponsors pay a portion and the places they go to shop probably give discounted rates for the free promo.

    If they get to keep it, then they have to pay income tax. Returning items to stores is no cost to the contestant.
