Shows like queer eye 4 the straight guy, do they keep the improvements for free or / they have to pay for them
I was watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy today on pay TV, and I'm now wondering about the actual costs involved..... do the contestants / victims on the show get to keep all the furniture and clothes used in their make over for free or do they either pay for the costs involved or is everything returned to the stores.....minus the clothing that has been worn, as it must cost a fortune to redecorate the homes and wardrobes of the contestants / victims that appear on the show, anyway, just wondering, I look forward to hearing some answers, Thanks

They get to keep everything. Many of the items were given free in exchange for the publicity of appearing on the show (in fact later on, Bravo actually charged companies to use their products on air). Bravo also had a small budget to pay for things they cannot get for free.
There was one exception, in the first season they made over a man named Allen who was very miserly and unpleasant to them, so they forced him to pay for a gift for his girlfriend out of his own pocket. But that was a one-off and only be cause he was a jerk and never did anything nice for his girfriend.

It is my understanding that all the items are donated by the various companies for use as an "Advertisement" and "tax deduction" for them.
