No I don't, but I do know...so far the War in Iraq has cost us tax payers more than £10 billion ...of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through 2010 will total more than £18 billion. If we include the social costs, the total impact on the UK will exceed £20 billion.

Just imagine what the government could've done with all that money. Improve schools, education. Hospitals.., public transport...etc.

It does not bear thinking about, as it seems they get into No. ten and their first thoughts go abroad and then love to give our money away, so it makes them look good .. I like the expression that we live in a rich Country...well it would be nice to help the people that helped to make it that way, as they certainly forget that. We are poor relations, as regards Pensions, as all of you will see in the future. The Pensions are pathetic in this day and age, as all we do is scrape along as best we can, as we have not to expect any more for our Labours.Any extras that we need, like clothes, bedding etc do enter into his reckoning when doing his books. Its a case of" I,m alright Jack "

Where I live, NZ, we give 5% of our gross national whatever to relief. This is mainly used in the South Pacific Islands, but also Afghanistan [only support troops?]

we also have huge needs at home...hospitals, education etc.

I suppose it's called sharing & if we ever had a disaster we would like help.

Gordon gave the mossie nets to Africa via American Idol..

    10 million quids worth.

Apparently he loves talent shows, strange when he appears to have no talent himself.

Filya I have decided that all our leaders in the so-called "Free world" are bananas. Actually I'll change that to all leaders.

It seems the biggest balls-up they can make, is what they'll do.

No I don't but it's probably nearly as much as they spend on them selves! I bet there's plenty lining their pockets!

Saying that, I'm all for helping the needy but not the greedy...
