uncut: pantry in a ventilated basket

cut: TIGHTLY wrapped and in the refrigerator

best thing to do with cut onions: use them up as soon as possible, so they don't get all strong on you...cut onions, when exposed to the air tend to get really strong due to the oxidation that occurs when the cut side is left unwrapped...so make a batch of salsa whenever you think you're going to have left-over onion

Onions can last for several weeks (if not months) without compromising their taste or nutritional value. However, you must be sure to store them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.

Once you cut an onion, wrap whatever portion you don’t use in plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator. It will keep about 4 days. If you dont plan on using it sooner chop it up and freeze it til you need it

In the pantry, unless you have part of an onion left over. Put left over (wrapped in plastic wrap) in fridge.
