James Charles Stuart was born on June 19, 1566. He was an enemy of Rome believing in the new reformed church which we refer to as protestantism. He gave to his people what he believed a gift the first printed copy of the protestant bible. He appointed 54 learned men to translate the documents. These men were the most learned men and linguists of the day. The dedicated their entire lives to translating and forming this bible. the greatest detractors to this translation was the Catholic church who were set against translating the bible so the common man could read it.
Don't get this confused with the council of Nicea of 323 A.D where the original texts were combined into one to bring together the believers who up until that time read many manuscripts but non that included the Jewish scriptures that we now refer to add the Old Testament and the writings of the Christian prophets which became known as the new Testament. They prayed and chose those letters and writings that they felt belonged in the newly created scriptures, Many writings were left out and compose what is referred to as the lost books of the bible.

King James was a king of England who had the first Bible written by one man. The NIV is a Bible that 19 people were chosen to interpret it from the scrolls and they all had to agree on the meaning of every word and they put it in a way that was easier for us to understand than the King James version.

Actually it is in some of the newer versions where certain scriptures are ommitted. He did actually add some non inspired books like the Apocrypha. Later versions had these spurious books removed. Who he was as a person he was a king of England.
