Anyone who drives/has driven a Toyota Prius...what is your opinion of it?

We are looking at getting a second car because I am starting a new job and we will really need two vehicles. We are seriously considering getting a Toyota Prius, either new or used. We've looked at Consumer Reports already, just wanted to know if anyone who has personal experiences with the car would be willing to share their thoughts.

I LOVE IT!!!! I hug it every couple weeks or so when i top it off.

Along with the gas deal, it is a real smooth ride, and after 4 years with mine, I've had no mechanical problems at all. none. i take it for an oil change every 5k like everyone else, but other than that, no mechanic has ever needed to touch my baby.

other than that, it feels good to drive past some green peace kids; ive actually had one of them give me an "earth hug", ha.

so yeah, my opinion: GREAT CAR! runs great, easy maintenance, and GAS doesn't hurt that much.

I had an 08 Prius with navigation, HID, everything as a rental when my 07 Corolla was being autoguarded.

It was a very nice car, although I am fairly tall (6'3") it had plenty of space. Very nice and quiet, sometimes I couldn't tell if it was on or not. I really enjoy the little shift lever. Reminds me of a 7 series BMW.

Overall its a great car for an awesome price and excellent gas mileage, and of course what makes it the best, It's a Toyota, it will run forever.

Prius owner here. Very happy with it.

I researched it heavily before I bought mine, found out that the Prius has coverage like an 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty on the battery, it has technology which saves on maintenance costs such as regenerative braking, it has a transmission with just one gearset (no gear-shifting wear-and-tear like a regular car tranny), etc.

I'm never going back to a regular car. After driving the Prius, normal cars feel downright primitive.

Answering this question means stereotyping. Some of the point may be true for some for some time. Not necessarily all points will be true for all women all time. Hence, it is a good question but respect Woman as she is is the answer.
