MP3 player that computer won't recognize?
I have an MP3 player (Sansa Scan Disk) that my computer won't recognize. The computer is a mini-notebook and the USB ports all work just fine I've had the mouse plugged into all of them at different times as well as a flash drive and a CD/DVD Drive. So I know it's not the ports. The player has been recognized on my partner's computer before so I know that it works.
Any suggestions for what I should do to try and make it work with my little computer? It's been almost impossible to load music on because I can't keep asking my partner to bring the computer home. Thanks!

Who would have thought that IOWA would have been the third state to legalize gay marriage? Hopefully it holds up. Right now, I'm very proud of the state where my grandparents were born!

Just curious to see what people's reactions are to this news article. Personally....I think it could be a way to go. There are European countries who, as I understand it, treat the situation this way. What does everyone else think?
8 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoDoes anyone know anyone who purchases china in the Baltimore area?
I have two sets of china - I believe they are both Noritake, both in decent condition (some pieces better than othes) and I'd like to find out what if anything they might be worth. I've tried to get a general idea from some of the online places (you have to pay to ship your stuff to them) but haven't gotten any feedback. I'd like to know if anyone is aware of a dealer in the Baltimore MD area who would be willing to assess what I have.
1 AnswerOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoTransferring music files to MP3 player
I have an Sansa MP3 player that was a gift from someone. I'm trying to put various music on it but only some of them work. For the ones that don't work, when I rip the song from the CD it comes across with no information in the file and then if I try to transfer it to the player it comes across as an "error". What I've narrowed down is that the file name ends in ".cda" for the files that won't transfer. The ones that ARE on the player end in ".wma" I tried renaming the file with .wma at the end. I was sure it wouldn't work, but figured it was worth a shot.
Any suggestions for someone who is not particularly technologically inclined?
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoAnyone who drives/has driven a Toyota Prius...what is your opinion of it?
We are looking at getting a second car because I am starting a new job and we will really need two vehicles. We are seriously considering getting a Toyota Prius, either new or used. We've looked at Consumer Reports already, just wanted to know if anyone who has personal experiences with the car would be willing to share their thoughts.
4 AnswersToyota1 decade agoTax rebate: can you still add a bank account to get it direct deposited?
My partner didn't receive a refund the last couple of years so the IRS doesn't have a bank account.....we could have the direct deposit on May 9, but would have to wait for the paper check until June 27 or so.
3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoI didn't work outside the home in 2007, would I be eligible for stimulus rebate payment?
I am a stay at home mom and graduate student. I worked in 2006 so filed taxes for that year. I didn't work outside the home at all in 2007 so didn't bother filing income tax (as there is nothing to report). Someone told me that they thought I could still be eligible for the stimulus plan rebate. Does anyone know?

5 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoHarry Potter #7 - primarily for yog2541?
I've read enough of the book to be willing to eat crow and admit that you are probably correct about the rest of your predictions as well. But I have to say two things.
One: I think it's a shame that you felt the need to post who dies simply because you could.
Two: I also think it's a shame that deepdiscount.com felt that they were in the right to send out the book early and I hope that they are penalized. Authors and publishers pick release dates for a reason, primarily for marketing purposes and they are within their rights to do so. We may not like it, but that's not the point.
Finally, while knowing that information isn't spoiling the enjoyment of reading the book for me (I want to know HOW the things happen-not just that they do - and there is more to the story then who dies and on what page)...that isn't true for others and I think it's pathetic that you felt it was okay to ruin the enjoyment others may have found in the book just because you could.

We are traveling to Seattle in July with three year old twins. My partner is attending a conference so I'll be on my own with them. Any suggestions for kid friendly restaurants (not just McDonald variety please) near the convention center?
