MP3 player that computer won't recognize?

I have an MP3 player (Sansa Scan Disk) that my computer won't recognize. The computer is a mini-notebook and the USB ports all work just fine I've had the mouse plugged into all of them at different times as well as a flash drive and a CD/DVD Drive. So I know it's not the ports. The player has been recognized on my partner's computer before so I know that it works.

Any suggestions for what I should do to try and make it work with my little computer? It's been almost impossible to load music on because I can't keep asking my partner to bring the computer home. Thanks!

the only thing that comes to mind is that you may have an older version windows.

if so, (or even if you have the latest ones) you will need the driver that came along with the Sansa Scan Disk, they come with a disc, run this disc on the cd drive of your mini notebook the computer will recognize the mp3 player when its plugged in.

taking into consideration that you mentioned a mini-notebook, it may have limited features. installing the driver should do the work. good luck
