Tax rebate: can you still add a bank account to get it direct deposited?

My partner didn't receive a refund the last couple of years so the IRS doesn't have a bank account.....we could have the direct deposit on May 9, but would have to wait for the paper check until June 27 or so.

Update:

Tried calling the IRS.....only received a recorded message.

NO!!! If you did not receive a refund that was direct deposited, you will receive a paper check!

There is NOT a way to go back and add one!

There is no way that you can add a bank account onto your return at this point. Once you have filed, you cannot go back and change it in order to speed up your rebate! Sorry!

  • IF U WILL BE GETTING CHECK IT WILL GO OUT EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED B/C IRS IS AHEAD OF SCEDULE.DIRECT DEPOSITS WILL GO OUT THIS MONDAY AND CHECKS WILL GO OUT ON MAY 9TH SO U WILL GET IT VERY EARLY INSTEAD OF JUNE.
