You can file for lost title, or a duplicate In your name that you will have to sign and notarize, Then he will have to have it transferred in his name and pay for that..

Assuming you are the registered owner of the vehicle, most states allow you to transfer the vehicle to a new owner without the title. You fill out a "lost title form" and they send the title to the buyer in his/her name. In most states this requires both parties to go to the DMV in person and fill out all of the forms.

It depends on your states DMV rules but most states you have to go and get a copy of the title , SOME states wiil let you trans fer owner ship with out a title , MY advise to you is to CALL your local DMV and just ASK !

It is against the law to sell a vehicle without proper title. You can obtain one at your local DMV. The buyer can go with you and get this done all at one time.

you don't have a title to transfer so you can't take it down to the dmv. you have to have the actual paperwork to transfer it! you need to notify the seller, he may not want to buy it now!

Get a new title from the clerk of the county that the car is registered in.
