The State of ID has placed a levy on my wages for 100% of my disposable wages - is this legal?

I rec'd a check for 0.00 today. We are behind one week - so I worked this week, making it 2 checks that they have taken 100% of my disposable income. No notice from them or my employer - is this legal? What should I do? I have enough savings for 2 weeks to pay for food, bills, & rent, but after that - I'm at a loss. PLEASE HELP!

They do have to inform you of what has been claimed. It's not usually allowable to take 100%, so you might want to confirm this with your HR department.

The government isn't like a garnishment from a private source. They can tow your car off and sell it at auction, they can kick you out of your house and sell it, they can clean every dime you've got out of your bank accounts.

In a lot of ways you're better off oweing the Mafia than the government.

Yep, legal for them to garnish your wages if you have a judgment against you. You might want to go back through your mail and you will probably find a letter.

Contact HR; sounds like they doubled up on the amount they were supposed to take out.

Yes they can. Doe you owe them money? Back taxes, child support, What?
