Often this is caused by an internal frost build up between your freezer and refrigerator. When it builds up it blocks the cold air from the freezer. If you can find the airway holes and see if you can feel inside of them for ice or frost build up. This can be caused by a bad thermostat or a fan. What I have done for temporary measures, is remove items from the freezer andfridge near airways and use a hair blow dryer to mels the frost, or you can empty the fridge and unplug it for at least 24 hrs and let it all melt. Either way is temporary and you'll need to repair whatever is making it not work. Also...make sure that the fridge door is closing all the way. Sometimes when the freezer door closes a little too hard, it can cause the fridge door to open a bit. Good Luck

I additionally wiped clean the coils. Now its working regardless of the undeniable fact that my computerized defroster isn't and that i ought to defrost each and every few weeks.

It may need refrigerant. You can clean the coils located underneath the unit or on the back, check the timer for the defrost cycle or unplug it and wait a couple of hours for the refrigerant to settle to the bottom of the compressor.
