Can Liberalism Survive The Brown Shirt Mentality Of Its Most Radical Members?

Although liberals claim to cherish our First Amendment rights, their most radical members seem to believe the “right” to free speech is theirs alone. In recent years, certain self-proclaimed “liberals” have attended scheduled speeches to be delivered by conservative “opponents” and have disrupted the speakers’ presentations by shouting them down.  In some cases they have even charged the podiums and attempted to physically attack those speakers.

Liberalism is increasingly viewed as the refuge of those who prefer an argument over a discussion -- as elitists who cannot tolerate opposing points of view and will use harassment and physical violence to prevent the free expression of such views.  

Are liberal leaders going to reign in their self-appointed “Brown Shirts” or are they going to allow their goons to destroy the progressive image their movement has achieved?

Let a person who has lived a lot longer than you have tell you what has killed American Liberalism. 

Liberalism is first and foremost about altruistic sacrifice. Willing personal individual sacrifice for the greater good of all. There is something about that that wrankles the Dixie rebel spirit of unlettered American Joe Sixpacks everywhere. "I may give you a dollar, but you aren't going to take a PENNY from me unless you pry it out of my cold dead hands!!" -- That sort of truly silly nonsense and willful juvenalia.

That's why Liberalism isn't a hit with the American people. Conservatives here and elsewhere have said they would not turn down their thermostat in the winter 2 degrees if they thought it would end global warming tomorrow. The way they self-justify this up front is by claiming global warming is a fraud. The way the personally justify it is by the means I just cited -- "Nobody is going to touch my thermostat but me!"

As long as no one is willing to get off the couch and sacrifice just a little creature comfort to ensure our survival as a species, as a race, as a nation, the neocon leadership and their massive, enslaving corporations and lobbies are going to own the American people lock, stock and barrel.

The truth. There it is.

liberals are wieners although if you read mien kamf Hitler hated social Democrats because he hated there unreasonable demands made by the worker trade unions and teacher who did not educate.  liberals are more commies than Nazi and big cry babies.. a true Conservatives thinks the goverment sould stay out of our lives completly 
low taxes and less spending. what we have now in george w bush is a one world goverment type and that that throw the whole lot together
