No need to re-install. Microsoft word, excel, powerpoint are a part of MS office. MS office is not included with XP. u need to install it separately.

When you get a computer, it usually comes with all the reinstalling disks. There are the disks to reinstall xp, and then theres a seprate box with the microsoft word programs in it. If you do not have a box containing the microsoft word processing programs, then you should call the company you bought the computer from and tell them to send it to you.

Windows and Office are not both the same thing. Microsoft Office includes Word and Excel.

Microsoft Windows XP is your operating system.

Microsoft Office is a third party software.

They do not come in the same disc.

You have to buy them. Microsoft owns the world, and they nickle and dime you. Office is a couple of hundred dollars.

But there is hope. openoffice.org is essentially microsoft office for free. It works very well, saves and reads microsoft office files. It is GNU. In other words, some smart folks decided they didn't want to buy Microsoft office, due to Microsoft owning the world, and they thought they could do it better.

Microsoft Office is a suite of applications that come separately. Costs mucho bucks. Use Open Office available for free download.
