NL Central is going to be close, who do you think takes it in the end?

I think Cardinals, and as you can tell by my avatar, I am completely biased, so I'd like to see what everyone else thinks. They have the desire to prove everyone wrong driving them. They are playing with more intensity than I've seen them play with in years. Stellar pitching from a rag tag bunch of ex relievers has fueled this run so far, further proving that Dave Duncan is a genius as a pitching coach. The hitting has been much more consistent as well. They will pull away from the Cubs who really only have two pitchers worth anything and the Brewers who lost Gallardo and are dealing with Gagne's mistakes.

I agree, Dave Duncan is one the best ever! We have some better pitchers and our newer younger ones are really coming around! Brian Barton, i think, should be played more, he is great. And Yadi and Al are at their best. I honestly believe we can go all the way, we have already proved everyone wrong about us and we love to continue doing so!

I'll admit i'm a Cubs fan right now.

I think that the cubs will win if and only if they pick up a quality #2 starter at the deadline. Our pitchers are taking quite some time to settle in, but we're still winning games. The offense could only get better if Alfonso Soriano becomes Alfonso Soriano. The Cardinals would be close behind if their aces come back to form. Surprisingly, they are accomplishing something in a season where no one expected anything from them. The Astros have a potient offense, but only has one ace and a few average pitchers. The Brewcrew has an offense that hasnt hit yet, and their staff is a mess. Pirates come in 5 as they top the Reds

The Cards will totally take this division. Mulder and Carpenter will be back for the race to the end and the young guns are getting it done. We may be hearing 11 time world champs in October!

What is this garbage, from some of the people answering this question, about being a fan right now. Either you are a fan or you are not. Anybody can support who is on top right now. Real fans support their teams in tough times. You have to respect a true fan even if you don't like who they are rooting for. I don't like the cubs but I respect the passion their true fans have for their team.

Im thinking the Astros will win, with the Cards in a very close second. The Astros offense has finally figured out what is going on and the pitch has been doing a decent job. The Brewers and Cubs are overrated in my opinion, and it will start to show with the Cubs soon, Brewers have already proved that they were overrated.

I'm a Cards fan too, but don't see Soriano hitting sub .200 all season. Cubs have a tough lineup. STL relievers are starting to fizzle and Glaus,Ankiel and Duncan strikeout alot. Lets just hope Wainwright can stay healthy and our starting pitchers stay motivated. It will come down to the wire between Chi and STL. St. Louis by 2 games b/c i'm bias too.

Cubs have the best well balanced team. But the Cardinals may only get get better when every 1 gets healthy. The Brewers could do it too. But i say Cubs will win it

    cubs

    soraiano is back

derrek lee is looking like the old a couple of years ago

the bullpen is the cubs problem right now they may have to switch kerry wood and carlos marmol to make the bullpen stronger.

I think the addition of fukudome and soto are really paying off

especially soto who has over 20 rbis and at least 5 homeruns already

fukudome just has to learn how to hit the all on the road and he'll be fine but wrigley loves him,

brewers will have trouble now that they lost another pitcher to injury just like sheets all these years and now sheets is the healthly one lol.

the cardinals will be getting cris carpenter back finally real soon and they will have a decent rotation and a shaky at the moment bullpen with isringhausen blow 3 of last 7 appearances.

the pitching will be the key and keeping all of there bats hot like they are now with skip ankiel and especially pujols.

so my prediction is cubs cardinals brewers and so on

yeah...i am going with you. as long as no one gets hurt. Great pitching so far this season. wainwright is doing good. so are the rest. Duncan is great. just have to get izzy back on track. only person who needs to pick it up a lot is glaus. one homer is not enough for him. the young players have shown they can play. can't have albert hurting his arm any more. plus, mulder will be back soon, followed later by carpenter. and yadi's gun helps too.

Source(s): I'm not just saying this because I'm a huge cards fan, but because I think it is what's going to happen.

I BELIEVE THE CUBS will win because they have great hitting with Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, and Alfonso Soriano. They also have great pitchers with Carlos Zambrano, Ted Lilly, and Ryan Dempster

i'm a reds fan and i'd love to see them win. they are in a huge slump right now, but by the end of the season i think they should be in the upper mid of the pack. i think the cubs will win it. brewers are having their problems already, an i don't think that the cardinals pitching will be able to perform for the entire season.
