Nickelback and Creedence Clearwater Revival sound the same?

Now I can't stand Nickleback as much as the next guy, and like CCR a lot, but lets be honest here, there are similarities. Not that they could sing each others' songs but the both have the same kind of strained and rough-ish sound without being a growl or gravelly. Again, not meant as a complimet or put down to either side, but you have to concede that the vocal style is similar even if the voices aren't.

How could you put Chad Kroeger or Nickelback in the same sentence as CCR?

correction up at the very top there.....CCR formed in California and Fogerty is from Berkeley. not exactly the South.....

anyway, that is the most ridiculous comparison i have heard of. compare legends to a bunch of jokes? i was not expecting this one.....

All I can say is tragic. Creedence Clearwater Revival is a great band, while Nickelback is basically Creed Jr.

CCR is loads better than Nickelback. I can't even bring myself to that rubbish. Sorry if I insulted any Nickelback fans.

Not a freaking chance. Nickelback may be one of the better bands right now, but CCR is one of the best bands ever.

What!?!? That is CRAZY! They sound NOTHING alike. John Fogerty sounds like no one but himself. And Nickelback sounds exactly like every other "rock" band. (Not to be confused with Rock, which does not have quotation marks).

if you really think about it, i can actually see a certain amount of similarity there...however, kroger doesn't have nearly the range or power in his voice that fogerty had, and obviously isn't a tenth of the songwriter, either

and i'm looking REALLY hard to find the amount of similarity that i did
