Will a kodak SD memory card work in a sony camera, or does it have to be sony brand

An SD memory card is NOT compatible with a Sony camera...because Sony cameras ONLY use Memory Stick or Memory Stick PRO Duo cards (except for their dSLR cameras, which use CF cards).
So, you will have to buy a Memory Stick (PRO Duo) for your Sony camera...BUT it doesn't have to be a Sony branded Memory Stick. You can buy ANY brand of Memory Stick PRO Duo.

for most camera's i don't think it matters what memory card you use but for sony you have to have a sony memory card or it wont work
