does anyone have any idea?

We bought a home in February.then my husband had to start going to dr for all kinds of test and found out he has cancer,a very rare kind. Our problem is we need about 15 grand to help pay medical bills and finish our kitchen project.Does anyone know where we could turn to.I heard about grants but they all want money up front.Any ideas?no sarcastic answers please,im very serious.

Update:

and yes the kitchen is a necessity.appliances are dated and faulty, and waterlines o sink need replaced and water heater is old and leaking,so it is a necessity.not trying to get money for a fancy kitchen just a reliable one.

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. You should contact local charities- like your church, and social clubs- like Rotary, Kiwanis and explain your situation. You're going to have to do a lot of work to raise the money. Further, communication with insurance, and the treating physicians and hospitals is hugely important. Make sure they understand your financial situation. Ask if some of your debt can be forgiven. Explore every avenue you can think of. I assume, I hope, that your kitchen project is a necessity and not a remodel or something. Best wishes.
