How does one leave ones windows open without getting tons of flies in ones home?

Update:

er, if you dont have screens and you do not have the money to fork out for screens. (this is not directed at US residents that obviously have screens)

Update 2:

get real, if you want to give me a lift to home depot, etc email me, i dont have a bloody car!

Update 3:

and no, i am a bloody peasant, so i live in the UK and dont have screens built into my home and i dont have an effing car to go get some, if you want to give me a lift to get some screens and fit them into my home, then i would be grateful, if you do not, then dont say something that I obviously can not do. or else i wouldnt be asking yahoo now would i??

You can buy fine mesh window screens which fit to the window frame using velco.

Flies also stay away from mint so maybe a few sprigs of mint or a cotton wool ball soaked in peppermint oil placed on the window ledge somewhere may help too.

I don't mind the flies getting in, it's the wasps and the spiders I don't like!

If the window does not have screens measure up the window go to the hardware store and buy shadecloth and thin bits of wood. Hammer and nail it into the window frame on the outside thats what I did and it works great and keeps the heat out as well**

It is not very hard to make screens. Many Americans and others forget that everyone made their own screens when we were kids...What did your parents do? Ask them. Scrap 1" wood and some cheap metal or plastic screen are easy to put together with a stapler and some screws or small nails.

    Don't whine...Make!

edit: never mind, you don't want an answer...it is a silly complaint. It is so easy to make screens-that only a whiner wouldn't know that. This is a HOW-TO site...

You do not want a answer, all you want to do is whine about a problem that can be easily remedied.

If your online you can sure as hell purchase screen online and have it delivered.
