Adam and Eve and race Black white etc...?

Adam & Eve ( and Lilith I guess )

So lets get over the whole incest issue- ( Gross ) and assume they all ahem.... bred with each other.

How did all other human characteristics come to be?

We have People who are Black, Dark colored, yellowish tints, White people etc.. etc....

So how did this happen.

Don't say that people where white but because of their surroundings ( Hot like Africa ) they evolved to become accustomed to this as there would not have been time to do this ( biblically speaking ).

( Or black and turned white as was in a colder country )

This takes millions of years evolution not thousands as the Bible would say.

I believe in God, but the Bible seems to be too be too far fetched sometimes.

( And to the narrow minded people... you CAN believe in GOD and still ask questions about the Bible. )

First of all, shame on you who shove atheist beliefs on a Christian who is asking an honest question.

I think that the Bible, like any ancient text, should be taken not quite literally. The story may have been lost for hundreds of years at a time and written down accordingly. Adam and Eve may have been cast out of Eden, had a generation of children who they shared their story with.... some of that generation spread to different places... they shared the story... eventually someone started writing it down!

Sorry, I know you said "don't say ... because of their surroundings" but that's what I think happened.

As you said, you can believe in God and question the bible!

    Good question!

I love this question because before DNA was even thought of the Bible insisted that the human race is a result of two persons, Adam and Eve.

Think about it, if this God can create a Universe that stretches infinitely into nothingness, how difficult would it be for Him to encode Adam and Eve's DNA to provide information for the various races. It seems that God is into the beauty of diversity, just look at the different flowers and roses and how they come together to form a beautiful bouquet. I wonder

At the time of Adam and Eve, there is no race of men. They look as the same because there are only two of them living which can be easily recognized.

Nowdays, there are plenty of people around the world and if we are all like the same white, we could not destinquish one from the other. That is the purpose of God why we do not look the same . do understand it.

  • When God mixed the languages in the Tower Of Babel, he probably mixed the races too. This is the best guess anyone has that I know of. The whole millions of years thing....I really don't agree with that but I will save it for another time.

*shakes head* What you are asking about is answered by the people that are in different places that are different races ALL evolved to where they live at.

It took thousands of years for them to change. That is why for instance there are people that are dark living in places that are cooler and have less exposure to sunlight.

... quoth, translated from my copy of the Bible: "So THE LORD / the Elohim created Adam in their image, male and female, so created they them."

The part where YHWH puts Adam to sleep and created Eve from his rib comes later. He created Eden after those initial 7 days.

Adam means humans, humanity, and Eve life. You do the rest of the math.

Tower of Babel and the concept of evolution -- as in adaptation and survival of the fittest. Each being has to adapt to their environment for survival. Those that can't hack it die and those with the characteristics to survive in that environment thrive and reproduce.

My answer might not satisfy you. Just for your reference.

I don't like to ask this sort of question. I don't like to question the bible. Bcos i choose and want to believe it is real, the God is real, He is the only God, He is the only way. Bcos i want to choose to believe there is a God, with love, peace, and hope. I don't want to dwell my mind on question that will take away my hope and love etc.

Secondly, God is above us in terms of wisdom and everything. So, how to question God ? I just can't, and don't need to.

The story is fiction, so the question is moot. See any modern anthropology text for a dscussion of racial differences and migration.
