Cats and dogs ----- torture!!?
i read in the ''people'' mag that people in china take pet dogs and cats, hang them onto a hook (still alive) and strip their fur off. If the dogs and cats struggle too much, they stomp on their heads and necks until they're barely alive. Then they throw their bloody naked bodies onto a heap of other cats and dogsv who were skinned before. Some of their hearts still beat 5 - 10 min and their eyes blink slowly. One dog even lifted his head and tried to get away but then he just collapsed.
I cried when I read this. I mean how can people do this? Take cats and dogs fur and use it to make coats and bags and other things. I mean, the animals are still alive!!!!! I just don't get how people could do this to ANY animal. It's so sad.
please comment.

Oh. My. God. That is disgusting, but, yes, I have heard that they eat dogs and cats over there. Unfortunately, it is just their culture, and there really is not much we can do about it. On Food Network, I have seen them eat other messed up things too, like scorpions, bugs, centipedes, RATS, u name it. That is just what they are taught to accept. But for as much beef as we consume, I heard that over in India, they WORSHIP the cow, and would never eat it. I'm sure in some parts of the world, they worship chickens too. If u really feel like u want to get involved in stopping this, I am sure there are programs u can join. Just be careful about donating. Some are not legit.

Marshall's WAS selling these products. I'm not sure if they are anymore. They had coats trimmed with what they called "raccoon dog" and "coyote" but was actually cat/dog fur. Supposedly they stopped, but I haven't spent a dime in a Marshall's since. Also, tourist traps that sell items trimmed with "Rabbit" fur are often using cat/dog fur because it's cheaper. After all, the item itself is made in China and since they have the fur there they just slap it on and call it Rabbit Fur. So don't buy anything from a souvenier shop with fur on it, or boycott the shop altogether. As for China itself, well, they have no sense of human rights, so why should they give a sh it about animals? I long for the day when my country will get off its lazy butt and stop depending on China for unsafe and cruel products. We have plenty of people here who need work who will NOT skin a dog or cat to get it.
PS: I eat venison and occasionally I take the skin to make leatherwork. The butcher skins the deer AFTER it is dead. How anyone could do otherwise completely sickens me.

Kip's Mom, I completely agree with you on the lobster thing. I have always mentioned this to people when they say something about people eating strange things in other cultures. Myself, I can't eat crabs and lobsters simply because of the way they're cooked. They're ugly, so it doesn't seem to matter that they are boiled alive.
As for the poster, I have heard of this before, and I think it's awful. I don't buy anything with ANY kind of fur. This is the general process for getting ANY FUR from ANY ANIMAL. I know that it's sad because we have cats and dogs as pets, but it's just as bad when they're killing fox and mink and chinchillas to make coats. This is going on tons of countries. It's awful.

We take live lobsters and throw them into pots of boiling water. What is the difference? Don't get me wrong. I think it's cruel to do this to cats and dogs as well. So, I would never buy anything made of fur. Any kind of fur. But I WILL NOT criticize another culture for doing something I find repugnant. I will (and do) boycott, and make purchasing decisions based on my beliefs, but clean up your own backyard before looking over the fence.
