How much might be the taxi fare from 1100 blk E Katella Ave, Anaheim to Santee Alley. LA?

I would love to go shopping at the Santee Alley market when we travel to LA in July (we're from Canada). I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if we took a taxi there, how much might the fare end up being? Or if anyone has any suggestions how to get there cheaper? Thanks.

Is there even a hotel there now? Last time I looked, it was all dirt.

In any case, it's 28.3 miles, and my fare calculator says about $80 US plus tip. Perhaps the Canadian dollar is strong, but that still seems pretty steep to me.

It would be much better to take the Metrolink or Amtrak into downtown LA, then take a bus or a cab over to Santee Street and Olympic. Check out www.metrolinktrains.com for schedules. There are plenty of trains going north in the morning. That part of Katella is a very short walk to the Metrolink/Amtrak station, which is at the north end of the Anaheim Stadium parking lot (Go Angels).

A cab ride from Union Station to Santee street (2 miles) should only cost about $13 plus tip.
