Dodge dakota 2000 5.9 idle problem?

i have a 2000 dodge dakota r/t with a 5.9. About a week ago i was driving after a heavy rain and my truck shut off, i was able to start it back up by giving it gas. the problem quit the same night...until now. i went down to start my truck after work and it started up a little sickly. i shut it off and was gonna start it again to see what it did and it would turn over and wanna start but not, i thought it was my coil because i had a problem with my after market coil burning up before, so i changed it back to stock and it started right up.i left my house and went to a friends and shut it off and tried to start it 20 minutes later, it would turn over and start but upon reaching the idle point it would just fall and shut off. i got the truck running by giving it more gas and keeping the rpms high then shifting and hitting the gas again before it could fall.whats wrong?

have the computer scanned on it ,if your having that kind of problem with it that's the first thing that needs to be done, then you might at least get a trouble code to work with ,good luck.

Sounds like an Idle Air Control(IAC) motor to me.

Put the vehicle on a diagnostic. Sound like a MAP or 02 sensor to me.
