Does this motherboard support any multiple core chip?
I have a MSI K8N Neo4-F. It currently uses a athlon 64 3000+ cpu but on the box it says it was designed for AMD athlon 64/FX/X2, I think the X2 is the dual core ones or is it AM2 socket(6000+ or something like that).
But in the mb manual, under mainboard specifications, it only mentions the athlon 64 and 64 FX.
Can my motherboard really support this chip?
it's a 939 socket. What's the best cpu I can get for it. Please tell me I could get something dual core.
Yes, Yes, Yes, confirmation is all I wanted. Sorry I can't choose a best answer yet.

The manual was probably written before the Athlon 64 X2 processor. X2 means dual core. You are right about what processors it supports and the X2 is definitely the best.
