What is your favorite Eddy Arnold song? Does it bring back any fond memories?
I just heard that he passed away this morning. I love his music, it brings back such wonderful memories. My favorite is "Make the World Go Away". Rest in Peace Eddy.
Thank you all for your wonderful responses. My hubby had some of our old albums in our closet and we played them this evening. Yes, each song was like listening to angel sing.

Eddy Arnold had the sweetest voice. It was as if he just opened his mouth and the songs flowed out with no effort. A true artist that will be missed. My parents always listened to him and Hank Williams so his music brings back memories for me as a child. Thanks for telling us Gladys!

My favorite Eddy Arnold song is Cattle Call. For years I went on a trail ride from Corpus Christi, Texas to San Antonio,Texas by horse back. about 150 Miles in 5 days. The wake up call at 5:am was Cattle Call. Many a morn I would wake to sore to move, to the beautiful sound of Eddy Arnold's
Voice. I will never forget this song and the wonderful friends ( most gone now) That I made during this time in my life. The noble horses I rode. The dances at night and the BBQ dinners
I ate.The towns along the way,who always welcomed us with open arms.I am to old now to go.but, any time I hear that song I am young again, and on my horse heading to San Antonio. What fun it was.

My favorite Eddy Arnold song is "What's He Doing in My World." He had such a smooth deep voice. My dad always fussed and said Eddy wasn't 'real country' but I liked listening to him on our local country music radio station back in the 60's. "Make the World Go Away" is a good one too.

'Make the World Go Away,' without a doubt. I didn't know he had passed. He had a distinct voice like many singers do. You always knew when Eddy Arnold was singing. Eighty nine yrs old, my goodness. Fond memory? I remember my mom standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes, singing this song many times.

So good to know that Eddy Arnold fans still remember him fondly. Guess 'Cattle Call' and 'Make the World Go Away', had to be my two favorites, too, but his voice was so pleasant that he could sing the phone book and you would stop what you are doing, just to listen. What a great memory

Take Me In Your Arms And Hold Me
Take My Hand Precious Lord
You Are Always On My Mind
I could go on but these are my most favorite. I loved to hear Eddy sing because he always made you feel good !!! A lot of country songs are sad and depressing but his were uplifting !!! I've danced to many of his songs.

I had not heard that he died. I am really sorry to hear that. He was an icon in Country music going back to my childhood. I guess "Cattle Call" would be my favorite since it is the first one I remember of his. I also love "Molly Darlin'" and "Tennessee Stud". I will try to listen to Nashville's WSM on line today as they will probably be doing a tribute to him today and playing all of his songs.

Gladys....I was so sad to hear of his passing. I loved the songs, "Make the World Go Away", "And Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye" and "Cattle Call". I remember hearing them on the radio and the juke box.......thanks for the memories.

Oh didn't he have the most marvelous voice? I don't think he
ever sung a bad song, because of that. It is hard to make a
choice. But I think I would go with probably the first one I
ever paid attention to as a kid. And that was "Cattle Call".
I was fascinated with yodeling I'd hear, and that caught my
ear, since it sounded similar to what I thought of as yodeling.
