2004 Jeep cherokee, how can I run a ground wire from driver door to the frame.?

I had originally asked for help because my electric windows/locks wouldn't work until after the interior lights dimmed out. But they have been staying on and won't dim out. Two people had same problem & recomended running a ground from door to frame & it solved their problem. So what size wire, & where to where exactly. Do I have to remove the door paneling to access the electric motor, & then try to figure which wire in there is the ground, & then run that to the frame, and drill a hole in the frame & screw the wire to the frame. Neither of the 2 people who said this allowed email, so I couldn't ask them.

Frame? Cherokee's are unibody's.....think of somewhere else to get a good ground.... remember to sand down to bare metal before screwin in the ground wire.

Use at least 10g wire. . . little wimpy speaker wire wont do the trick. you will have to remoe the door panel....i've never torn into a new jeep so i cant tell you much abut it besides my guess is gonna be pay someone to do it..... newer the cars get te less you wanna be messin with window regulators.

invest in a "chilton" Maunel or some sort of manuel for your jeep. they are pricy (20$ At Autozone) But well worth it when your tearing into a car with no expirience. Hope you get it fixed! Let me know if your idea works....be interesting f it does!

Why risk frying your electrical system based on non- expert suggestions? It sounds like you need to go to Auto Zone or a similar place. Ask them to diagnose your system (they will do it for free). They will plug in a hand held device beneath your dash that can diagnose a lot of problems. If you have a short, or bad sensor, they will tell you. Sounds to me like a relay that might be shot.

ALSO- the obvious answer is the 3 way light dimmer switch that might be in the ON position. Next solution might be a bad dimmer switch.
