I go for all the cheapest wine at Asda and I've never had a bad bottle yet! I do like really expensive wine now and again, but when I find a really good cheap wine I tend to stock up, both red and white. I don't know why the prices can vary from 3 to 12 pounds?

I think sometimes you are "paying for the name" or the region that the wine comes from. I personally don't see the point in paying loads of money for wine, I won't usually spend more than £5 for a bottle, as long as it takes okay, what's the point unless you're rolling in cash, and I ain't.

i prefer to buy my wine from the sunday times wine club.. you can get a good case for about £50-60.. which is about £5 a bottle... and tastes like £10 a bottle if it was bought from the supermarket.
i've not had a bad bottle yet.

Know, what I would do? I keep the empty expensive bottles and pour the cheap plonk into it! I have a friend who is a snotty wine connoisseur - so I poured a glass of the cheap stuff into his glass - and he never even took any notice.

Think you were lucky! Cheap wines are a bit hit and miss. Some are very nice, while others would be good sprinkled on chips!

Erm get off that cheap stuff and switch to a nice Chardonnay from Wolf Blass.

wine is either palatable to you or not.
i like cheap ones and asda is very good as is morrisons for good wine.
i dont like sweet but prefer rose, or i just buy a box of red and a box of white and mix them. £12.00 a box each. 6 litres in total. that is cheap.

Apparently they do taste different, but only to those with a decent pallete. Smoker myself (yes boo and hiss) hence why I get as much satisfaction from a £3.49 bottle as I do a £12 one.

The world is one great big rip off.
