    No.

I lie and work in the system in the UK. It has problems, and it is not perfect. But it works better for the people of the UK and the US system does.

Despite spending more money on healthcare per person than any other country in the world, the US has one of the highest death rates for kids aged under five. How is that right?

If you need emergency care, you get it. You do not have to wait three months for your appendix to be taken out if it ruptures etc. Remember, just as emergency care is given, like it is in the states, preventative treatments are also given, unlike in the USA. So that means that all have access to treatments to prevent illnesses. Unlike the USA.

Which is why the death rate of kids aged under five in western Europe is lower than it is in the USA.

That would never happen in Canada, the hospitals here work on a triage system. That means everyone is sorted by the severity of their condition, the people who need the care the most get bumped up to the front of the line and people who can wait have to wait for the emergency cases to go through first.

So if you find yourself in an emergency room with a sprained ankle the same time as someone having a heart attack comes in the guy having a heart attack is going to be treated right away, and you may have to sit there a few hours until they have a free moment. I admit for the person with the sprained ankle, it's a bit inconvenient, but nothing more. Emergency care is given right away, you would never have to wait three months for it.

I would assume Germany works the same way, I can't think of how else you would sort patients.

The record of Universal Health Care has been dreadful across the board.

This article does a good job summing it up:
