EBILAN: Admin Account - User Account?

I have been using the admin account since I purchased the pc. Nobody informed me differently. How do I transfer 5 years' files and work to a user account? Please try to let me know. Much appreciated.

    If they're saved files in the my documents folder then just copy them to a folder on the root of the drive before making the user account. After you make the normal user account you can copy them back to the my documents folder for the new account. If you've installed all of your programs to work for everybody on the computer (This is the default action for 99% of programs) then they will work fine after you've created the new account. For specific program settings have a look in

    C:\Documents and settings\Administrator\Application Data for folders named like the program and copy them to C:\Documents and Settings\<new user name>\Application Data

    The main reason that you should use a normal user account is because the admin account is not limited in any way. If a virus gets in to your computer while you are using the admin account it has free run of everything. Using a normal account would limit it's actions to some extent.

    rather user-friendly merely make create yet another person and supply him the rights of admin and alter the rights of admin to someone then sign off and relog you would be confuised to try this precise click my laptop take care of clientele and communities clientele bypass to action tab New person Create the person word! by using Default it is going to be a member of clientele team to alter the Rights precise click on the person which you has created properties Member Of Tab Delete the person and wirte the "directors" ok Now precise click at admin account properties click the Tab of Member Of Delete the directors and write the clientele ok Now your admin is an odanary person won't be able to deploy any element however the hot person you have created is now new admin of your laptop.

    Back up all your personal data from your PC right NOW. No back up in 5 years is crazy!!!

    "Backup" means: copy (or Drag & Drop) your data to CD / DVD / external hard drive WEEKLY.

    Then, you can restore it to any account (or PC) you want.

    TIP: Store a 2nd full backup in a bank Safety Deposit Box, in case of fire, theft, etc.
