All volumes on my pc are at full volume, like they have always been. There are no further adjustments I can make. Is there any way I can download a new soundcared, or something like that? Only guessing ....

I have lost about 60% of the output sound volume on my pc. Even if I play it through my surround sound, which I have been doing for 5 years, the whole volume has gone for a loop. When watching utube I can hardly pick up any sound there as well. Please, can somebody help me.

I want to change my profile from PRIVACY and add my name and photo. I have been battling for two days to do this, but just don't know where to go. Please, please - can ANYBODY out there help me, I am pretty frustrated by now. And .... many thanks in advance.

I have restored my laptop to one month ago. The same happens. When I open MS Office - "AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED AND THIS FEATURE IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. PLEASE RUN SETUP AND SELECT "REPAIR ...." TO RESTORE THIS APPLICATION.

Setup says "GO TO CONTROL PANEL - INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPONENTS"

Last week my laptop froze and I sent it in for start up again. My IT friend updated Windows version 5.1 service pack 2 to service pack 3, whatever that means - I am slightly (actually quite) computer impaired, so please grace me with some patience. Since all this has been done I cannot access Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The message I get upon creating new documents or opening existing files is THE COMMAND CANNOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE THE DIALOG BOX IS OPEN. CLICK OK AND THEN CLOSE DIALOG BOX TO CONTINUE. When I do this, the following message reads REPAIR MICROSOFT OFFICE 11.0. Upon the okay button, the following message is "WINDOWS INSTALLER PREPARING TO INSTALL". Only a while later does the document open. I do not know what went wrong and how to recover the software. Can somebody please help. I may mention that my pc is 90% full. I have stored all my music and pictures on an external hard drive, but cannot make backups of my documents until they are recovered. I am too afraid to delete anything at this stage, in case I should encounter recovery problems in the future. PLEASE HELP.

Actually, my heading has said it all. I am very afraid of a PC crash and have all the above 'safeguards'. Is there anything else I need to get? I am also very afraid of these programs clashing, as I have read it could happen. Please advise me. I have only the free edition of AVG, does this offer adequate protection? I HAD Nero 7 on my PC, downloaded from a disc which I have mislaid. I then clicked for an upgrade to Nero 8 and the procedure is to first uninstall, which I did. Then it appeared I have to pay for this upgrade!!! I am now without Nero and I don't know what to do. I cannot find my disc with my registration number anywhere and I have exhausted myself looking. What do I do now? I am certainly not going to pay again. Where can I REALLY download the complete program for free now? Please help.

Hi, I am an avid music collector and I just love all genres of music. Lately I have this thing for swing music but alas! I don't know what I am looking for. Please help me. I am slowly coming to the realization that I am slowly aging. I am pro-active and want this swing music to listen to when I am 102 (Young at Heart - Frank Sinatra). I have 47 applications running on my start up. I do not know which ones are safe to remove. On Add or Remove Programs (Control Panel) - if I remove programs from there, do I lose them from the pc completely, or just block them from booting in with start up?

I have downloaded Nero 7 (from a disc), but now I do not know how to play my music through it and how to view photos (both are currently used through Windows). Please help me. Also advise whether there may be any problems with using this program, as I am not very pc literate.

Every now and again my internet becomes unresponsive. The reply I get from the error report is -

I cannot locate these files, and even if I could, I would not know what to do with them.

I go to great lengths when doing laundry. All whites are washed separately, never put out in the sun (tumble dried) and never ironed. Sheets are washed every week without fail. However, I notice that my cotton/polyester (60:40) sheets have a developed a dull colour and are not crisp white anymore. I have tried adding bleach to the washing process, but see no improvement.

My Tshirts are still a very crisp white, in spite of some of them being 5 years old.

Please can anyone help me, as I am very very fastidious about my washing. Actually, I think I border on obsession with my laundry. I doubt, however, that this will give me a mental breakdown although I am starting to have sleepless moments. (Tongue in cheek).

Grandpa and myself are visiting New Zealand from South Africa for 6 weeks in December. Her parents are joining us 2 weeks later. I need urgently to know what travel documents (besides passport) is required for me to have permission to enter and exit the country with the infant. I do not want any trouble at the customs for a 5 month old baby that is accompanying us without her parents. I have sent faxes, emails and made telephone enquiries with the New Zealand High Commissioner in Pretoria, South Africa - to no avail (since 5 November). I really hope there is someone who can help me on this urgent issue.

I have a Villiers Junior (motorised) autocycle of which I do not know the year of manufacture. Can anyone give me any leads to follow on the net so that I can gather more information about this item. I do believe it is a collector's item and would like to restore it to it's former glory - but I really need assistance before I can get started.

I have spent the first three months of my granddaughter's life with her, in spite of living almost 2000 kms away. Grandpa visits us once or twice per month. Sadly, I have to return home soon - I am going to miss her tremendously.

I want to know from all the mommys and nans out there - what sort of educational stimulation can I give my baby? I started exercising her back and neck after two weeks, and we were all amazed at how strong she is. After a month I started with her legs and now she kicks very strongly. I have done the same with her arms (clapping) and she is in very good shape.

I would like to start some mental stimulation but have no idea where to start. Already, since age 2 weeks, I hanged a very colourful flower for her to look at. She loves it! She also has toys all around her to stare at, but I feel there must be more!!!

I desparately need advice on how to treat a sun deck and my wooden garage doors and patio furniture which is exposed to the elements. The front door was merely varnished when it was installed and now, 5 months later, the varnish has become brittle and is flaking. It has also faded and has 'burnt' to an opaque white colour. Obviously, this has to be removed thoroughly. I was told to put 4 coats of varnish thinned with turps at the ratio of 75:25%. This should dry thoroughly between coats. Only thereafter do I apply two coats of varnish. This was not done initially. I am not certain whether this really works and obviously I don't want to spend more time and money on this task if it is not the correct treatment.

PLEASE, is there some kind person who can tell me what the real proper treatment is. I know there must be a way. After all, how do people protect their yachts and sundecks at the sea?
