The verdict is in and you are wrong...?
Alrighty well this is purely hypothetical, but I have a hypothesis that I want to test. Anyways, so here is the situation:
The science is in and it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that your beliefs on religion are wrong. If you believe in God, they have just found rock solid evidence that he does not exist. Conversely, if you do not believe in God, they have just found rock solid evidence that He does in fact exist. (And please don't go into the dynamics of the improbability science ever finding a definitive answer, I said it was hypothetical people)
So my question is: How would you react to this news? Would you choose to accept this indisputable knowledge, or would you live in denial? and why?
My hypothesis has to do with the reaction and not the hypothetical question. Obviously science is not going to definitively answer the question any time soon. So humor me please
Basically this all has to do with the idea that a non-believer is a skeptic who requires evidence. If the evidence is in and it is acceptable science, then they would have no trouble accepting the idea of God.
As for religious people, I believed that they would find some sort of excuse to deny the science, and of course, they could never accept scientific truth, because they are not rational. Sorry guys, but it is true.
I agree with you EddieJ

Hypothetily speaking, If the evidence that proved god to be real was unquestionalbe. What choice would we have but to belive. If you didnt it would be as ridiculouse as not beliving in evolution.
Sadly there is no possible way to prove either argument so we will all just continue to float on in a sea of ignorance.

If it was proven that there is actually a God, then without a doubt in my mind I would follow that God's every word and thank him every day for creating me.
Many non-believers would do the same.
The only thing missing is proof - mostly it has nothing to do with will.

I wouldn't believe it because it was one of the many "anti christs" John is refering to in Revelations and I would go on in my happy life with My Lord, and My God, knowing that I would one day be in Heaven, living happily ever after with my Saviour.

As a devout Christian, I would be highly suspicious, doubtful, of such a claim. I would deny such a claim's accuracy and validity. Most of the absolute truths in our world have been established, making a claim about creation highly suspicious.

Well, I wouldn't be an atheist.
I can't promise I would worship whichever god is shown to exist, though.

Most gods, I probably wouldn't really mind proof of... although I'd think it was pretty crazy, even if proven.
Shiva might be pretty cool...

Your hypothesis is flawed.
If it was "indisputable", how could we possibly dispute it?

Ignore it, nothing is bigger than God.
