1983 mercedes sedan not working?

i have a 1983 mercedes sedan that has been in my driveway for a year without using it. i tried to turn in on but it doesnt turn on. i tried on a new battery but it didnt work either. someone came over and said that the fuel injectors could be dirty or the fuel filter could be clogged how do u clean the injectors or unclogg the filters. or any other reasons why it doesnt turn on?

it starts but doesnt stay on it turns off i think it has to do something with the fuel

What you have is called an "old car". The problem with your "old car" is that it's an EXPENSIVE old car.

I doubt it's the old fuel in the car, but it wouldn't hurt to pump out the tank and put in fresh. While you're at it, put in some injector cleaner (comes in a can from the auto parts store).

Injectors are cleaned by taking them out and putting in new ones. Injectors can only be cleaned by driving with injector cleaner in the fuel.

I drive a '66 Chevy every day. It's our newest car. Yes, it's an "old car", but it's a CHEAP old car. All the parts are still available and at a reasonable price.

Every car . . . any car . . . is an ongoing expense. If you can't afford Mercedes Benz prices, get rid of your Mercedes Benz.

I avoid expensive cars, and I have some very nice cars.

    You can too.

After the car being sit in the driving for over a year without being touched, the first thing I'd check is to make sure the car still has gas in it. If it does, I'd remove the air manifold, with someone turn the ignition key, slowly pour (spray) some gas down the throttle, let the car run for a while until it heats up. You should be in business.

the fuel is old and settled, drain the tank and put new fuel in with a cleaner and run it for 20min. if any problems after that check all the fuel lines and motor wiring

Draining the gasoline tank isn't purely difficult.it is likewise risky!! So exchange the gasoline clear out.shop on checking and changing it till not greater airborne dirt and dirt is seen in it!! do not mess with the injectors. The artwork isn't for DIYers.that's gentle technique!!

I am sorry to hear that. That's what a mechanic is for don't try it on your own if you are asking why its not working lol. It will probably cost more than its worth you should donate it to KPBS they will give you a tax rite off.
