What kind of hair style should I get?

Question

I'm 15, and my father thinks that I'm in desperate need of a hair cut.  I don't want to go to great lengths to look good, but I don't want to look like a slob either.  I dress kind of preppy, I'm almost 6 feet, and average build (I don't know if that really matters.)  I want it kind of short because the weather is getting hot.  I was kind of going for a surfer look, but it didn't work out too well (or did it?).  Can someone give me advice on what kind to get?

i think u should like keep it kinda long like about and inch and a half and then make a small mohawk... that would look hot!
