Which Android phone will come out next for AT&T?
After some disappointment with the Motorola Backflip that was just released for AT&T, does anyone have any ideas which Android will come out next and when? AT&T said they would be releasing five Androids in the first half of 2010, and it's already March and we've only seen one, so the next four better be coming out fast!
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhat are my chances of getting into MIT, Hopkins, Cornell, etc?

Summers
7-11 for 3 years (boss loved me)
I am applying to both the Drexel Summer Mentorship Program and Fox Chase Student Scientist. I expect to get into at least one, but possibly both if my essays are as good as I think....... Which would look more prestigious?
My college choices in order of preference:
MIT, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Stanford, Drexel, U Pitt
If I forgot anything, please ask!!!
Thank you so much!!!
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat should I do about my iPod Touch's battery?
I have had a 1st Gen, 16GB iPod Touch for a little under a year and the battery life is ridiculously short. Sometimes, it's even so bad that I will remove it from my Sony dock or USB wall charger and it will immediately turn off without me even using it. I have followed all recommendations for extending battery life I could find on the Internet: WiFi is always off, my brightness is at 30%, Push notifications and Location services are off, it has the latest firmware, and I charge it regularly. I am not sure what to do and I need a solution quickly becuase the warranty is almost expired. What is the next step I should take? Thanks for the advice!
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWill Apple send me a new iPod?
I have a 1st Gen iPod Touch that I got under a year ago, so it is still under warranty. Recently, the battery life has been getting worse and worse, even with the brighness most of the way down, WiFi off, and doing everything else apple recommends. It is at the point that as soon as I take it off the charger, it dies (I am not exaggerating).
Do you think that if it gets shipped out to Apple or take it to an Apple Store, they will send me a new one (possibly 2nd or 3rd gen) or just replace the battery?
5 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhat are my chances of getting into these colleges?
I have asked this question a few times before, but each time I do, I add more information and more colleges. I am now a junior at a public school in PA. Here are my credentials:
GPA (as of end of sophomore year): 4.3
Rank (as of end of sophomore year): 7 / 721
PSAT (as a sohpomore): CR: 63 M: 53 W: 62 (I'm bringining these way up)
(No SAT's yet, but coming up soon)
Chem SAT: 730
AP Euro: 4
I am currently in AP Bio, AP US, AP Lang, Hon Span 4, Hon Phys 1, and Honors Math 2 (The highest math available)
I plan on taking AP Physics, AP Gov, AP Lit, AP Calc, Hon Chem 2, Hon Span 5, possibly AP Stat.
I am also in the district's "gifted" program.
Extracurriculars:
Marching Band
Symphonic Band (1st chair saxophone)
World Affairs
Science Club (does sci olypiads)
Nature Club (does Envirothon)
Environmental Action Club
Model UN
Debate Club (possibly)
Mathletes (possibly)
Peer Editor (only 10 chosen out of school)
Future Problem Solving (made to state level in 9th)
Community Service:
Aid for Friends
Jewish Relief Agency
Play jazz for seniors at retirement home
Library Volunteer
Clean local highway
Sight Night (collects glasses on Halloween)
I am currently doing a project with a few of my more engineering-oriented friends in alternative energy and hope to have something finished soon (I don't want to give any details away)
I am applying for a summer program both at Drexel and MIT, so hopefully participating at those will increase my admission choices.
Here are the colleges I want to attend (in order of preference) for bioengineering or something like it:
1. MIT (DREAM SCHOOL)
2. Johns Hopkins
3. Yale
4. Cornell
5. Drexel
6. U Pitt
7. Penn State
What are my chances of getting into any one of these schools?
I am passionate about science, and am sad to see that this is not always enough for some schools.
Is there anything you can recommend to help me get in?
THANK YOU

I am trying to grow algae from my pond to convert into biofuel, and I just added it to a bucket filled with water from the pond. It is sinking to the bottom, and I am not sure if this means it is dead or not.
Thanks!
3 AnswersOther - Environment1 decade agoWhat college coluld I get into with these scores?
I'm a sophomore in high school and just got my PSAT scores back (my second time taking them).
My scores were:
Critical Reading: 63
Mathematics: 53
Writing Skills: 62
Percentile: 86
The kinds of schools I'm looking at are: Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon, and MIT. I realize that I probably won't get into MIT, but it's nice to dream.
P.S.: My GPA is a little over a 4.2
Thank you for your recommendations!!!
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoAny college recommendations?
I'm a sophomore in high school (10th grade) , and my parents have started taking me around to look at colleges (they wanted to give me an early start.) I'm kind of undecided of what I want to do but it's down to: some sort of bio/chemical/medical (or a combo of the three) enginerring, nanotechnology, or some type of robotics. I have a great passion for biology, and am taking chemistry 1 this year, and love it, and I like imagining and creating somewhat simple robots (with Legos :o).
Here's my profile:
AP European History - Solid A (Highest level available)
Honors AE Chemistry 1 - Solid A (Highest level available) (I have been in the Gifted Program since 2nd grade)
Honors English - High A (Second highest to pre-AP English - both worth 4.5)
Honors Math 1 - Low B (Highest Available - worth 4.5)
Spanish 3 - High A
Other assorted electives - photography, wind ensemble (I play tenor sax, wind ensemble is highest level of band)
I'm also in marching band and planning on joining photo club/foreign language club. I do community service and charity regularly with my synagogue and with my family.
I live in lower PA, and I want to kinda stay close to home (not too close).
My parents have already taken me to Lehigh University, and I liked it. I'm going to Drexel next week, and that's also an option.
My other choices are:
MIT
Carnegie Melon
Pitt
Penn State
U Penn
I took the SATs in 7th grade through a gifted program, and got around a 1200 on the new system.
I've taken the PSAT's twice, one last year as a freshman (I got a 1580), and the second time recently, so I didn't get my scores back.
If anyone could recommend me to any college, that would be great and I would be so grateful.
Thank you!!!

4 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat do we need to get a small recording studio set up?
My friend and I wanted to start a little movie studio in his house. We both have Macs (I have an iMac and he has an iMac and a MacBook,) and we have some software (Final Cut Express and the trial of Final Cut and Shake), but the camera we have is a cheap Samsung DV camera, and we can't do much more than chroma-key. We want to do live keying, and I know that we need a mixer, but I have no idea which one to get. Also, we need a new camera, preferably HD, and I would like a second monitor. Also, I have been doing some 3D animating in Blender, and was wondering if we could incorporate that into our movies. So my question really is: What is the grand total of things that we need to start our small little studio (for as little money as possible), and how can we make a small profit, if possible?
Thanks so much!!! :)

2 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoIs Nikon coming out with a new D-SLR model to replace the D80?
I was recently going to purchase the Nikon D80 from ebay from a store called "pyxis camera," and one day noticed that they stopped selling all but three D80's. I also knew that the model is two years old, and wondered if Nikon would come out with a new model.
Can someone please tell me if there will be a new model soon, and if it will be worth the wait?
Thanks!!!
1 AnswerCameras1 decade agoWhat kind of hair style should I get?
I'm 15, and my father thinks that I'm in desperate need of a hair cut. I don't want to go to great lengths to look good, but I don't want to look like a slob either. I dress kind of preppy, I'm almost 6 feet, and average build (I don't know if that really matters.) I want it kind of short because the weather is getting hot. I was kind of going for a surfer look, but it didn't work out too well (or did it?). Can someone give me advice on what kind to get?
Thanx in advance!
Here is a picture of me (with stuff blocked out):
2 AnswersHair1 decade agoHow do I get into shape for the summer?
I am 14, pretty tall (5' 10"), and what some may consider light (120 lbs.). I have no problem with my height and weight (except the little flab I have on my thighs), other than the fact that I am very scrawny. I have been doing about 400 crunches in the morning and night to build up my abs (I just want to tone, I have no desire for a six-pack, or even anything close). I also use my Mom's 8lb. weights (which is the heaviest she has) to do some basic lifting exercises. I have seen some results over the past couple of weeks, but I am still scrawny. Is there an effective, healthy way to tone my muscle and maybe loose what little flab I have on my thighs? I do not want to starve myself or do anything else dangerous.
Thank you a lot!!!!
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoHow do I use mobile blogging on AT&T?
I very recently purchased a Sony Ericsson w580i Walkman phone from AT&T. I mainly got it for the music features, but soon realized that it had a lot of camera features, one of which being mobile blogging. I take a lot of pictures, and do a lot of blogging, so I thought this would be a great feature. I went to Sony Ericsson's website and followed the instructions, but my phone is set up differently than the phones in their examples. How do I use mobile blogging on my phone? Do I need a data plan, or can I use MMS instead?
Thanks!!!
P.S. One of my keys cracked, also. The phone is under warranty still. Will AT&T give me a new phone, or ship me a refurbished one?
Thanks again!

2 AnswersHistory1 decade agoHow can I get into robotics/computer programming before college?
I'm 14 (about to become 15), and have pretty much narrowed my career choices into two major categories: biochemistry and computers (more specifically, robotics or programming). I know that there is almost no way to get near a lab for biochemistry until I'm 18, and by then, I'll probably have started applying to colleges. Fortunately, I know that there is a way to get into robotics and programming before I'm 18, and maybe I can even get an internship in a couple of years. Unfortunately, I have almost no knowledge of any programming language. I've looked into Microsoft Dream Spark, but as of now, it's not available to high school students. I was wondering what resourses there are to learn about a couple of common languages (e.g. Java and C++) and to possibly get a part-time job/internship (pay would be nice but not necessary.) I live in outside Philadelphia and a few minutes from Princeton, so I hope there are some camps or workshops someone could point me to. Thanks in advance!

2 AnswersTechnology1 decade agoIs it possible to have two phones on AT&T?
I just bought a Sony Ericsson W580i less than a month ago, and i really like it, but I find it hard to text on. I wanted the Pantech Duo also, but I don't want to pay $300+ for an unlocked one. Is there any way to buy it through AT&T and get it with a discount, and just switch out my SIM card?
3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhat is the best AT&T phone for texting and music?
In a few months, I will be eligible to upgrade my phone on AT&T. I currently have the Samsung SYNC, and it's an okay phone, but the battery is horrible. Even though I understand that it should be a little low because it is a music phone, it has become ridiculous. I would like to purchase another music phone (not Samsung obviously), but I want a phone that is easy to text on. I have narrowed my options down to five choices: Sony Ericsson w580i (my top choice), Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Pearl, Pantech Duo, and LG Shine. I know that the Curve is a little on the big size, but I think it's worth it to get the QWERTY keyboard. I appreciate everyone's recommendations! (If you have another recommendation that is not on my top five list, feel free to tell me!)
